My Story
I gravitate towards people and opportunities that are fun and laughter-filled. My bucket is filled with incredible friendships that are heartfelt, supportive and uplifting. If given the opportunity to join a new experience you will usually get a quick “YES!” from me as I’m a fun-doer of life and want to try new things. Fitness is important to me as I grew up as a gymnast, swimmer and cheerleader which instilled in me the mindset of a fit and healthy body. I love pilates, yoga, strength training and HIIT workouts. After getting a BS in Communications at the University of Tennessee, I became a digital marketer leading teams for global agencies as well as our own Data and Analytics company, Search Discovery, that we sold in August 2021. I retired from office life in 2017 into the new full-time titles of Mom, Wife and Life Experiencer. Family I am blessed to have my awesome and adventurous husband and EPXer, Lee Blankenship, by my side in this journey of life. We’ve been together since 2003 and he’s reactivated my passion for adventure and gets me outside my comfort zone which is where we all thrive and grow as humans. Lee is always up for a good costume, something we share and brings such joy and laughter! He wears his heart on his sleeve, a giving man that I still swoon over. We have a son, Tyler, born in 2010 and just started middle school (help us!) and much like his Dad he is strong-willed and incredibly smart. We have an eclectic group of pets that were all acquired during COVID. Our leopard gecko, Luna. A sharp snow boa named Snowflake and two mute swans named Romeo and Juliet. Follow them on Instagram at @LindsaysLizardLounge and @PetSwans! Philanthropy After losing my Mother to breast cancer in 2002, I leaned into the disease to educate myself about my own personal risk and became passionate about helping other young women know their risk. I started a Race for the Cure team, Jogging for Jugs, and over 10 years, teams across 6 states collectively raised over $30,000 that funded mammograms and other health benefits for underprivileged women. In 2012, I started an Atlanta Chapter for Bright Pink, the only national non-profit focused on risk reduction and early detection of breast and ovarian cancer in young women. In 2013, I became one of their first Educational Ambassador’s for Bright Pink with the role to educate, equip, and empower women to take charge of their own health. This role was the most fulfilling as I would present life saving information to young women. Travel My Mother worked for United Airlines for 30yrs so I grew up on planes in the era where we needed to wear pantyhose and dress up properly as we usually beat out pilots for first class due to my Mother’s seniority. It instilled the need to see the world and adventure in my soul. My favorite travel memories are those combined with a physical challenge and personal accomplishment such as trekking to the base cam
